Ingredients
  

  • 4 cups glutinous rice flour
  • 2 cups water
  • Green yellow, and purple food coloring
  • Cheddar cheese or quick-melt cheese cut into small cubes
  • ½ cup sesame seeds toasted
  • ¼ cup white sugar

Instructions
 

Make the Dough:

  • In a large bowl, combine glutinous rice flour and water.
  • Mix until smooth dough forms.
  • Divide dough into 4 portions—leave one plain and add green, yellow, and purple coloring to the others.

Shape the Balls:

  • Flatten a small piece of dough, place a cube of cheese in the center, then roll into a ball to enclose.
  • Repeat until all dough and cheese are used.

Cook the Palitaw Balls:

  • Bring water to a boil in a large pot.
  • Drop the balls gently into the boiling water.
  • Cook until they float (about 2–3 minutes), then remove and drain.

Coat and Serve:

  • In a bowl, mix toasted sesame seeds and sugar.
  • Roll the cooked palitaw cheese balls in the sesame-sugar mixture until coated.
  • Serve warm or at room temperature.
