A soft, fluffy Filipino steamed cake made easier using ready-made pancake mix—perfect for snacks or parties!

Cooking Tips:
• Avoid opening the steamer in the first 10 minutes to maintain fluffiness
• Steam over medium heat to avoid cracked or dry tops.
• Wrap the steamer lid with a clean cloth to prevent water from dripping into the puto.
• Do not overfill the molds—leave space for rising.
• Let the puto cool slightly before removing from molds to avoid sticking or tearing.
• Use silicone molds for easier unmolding and consistent shape.

Ingredients Tips:
• Use evaporated milk for creamier and richer flavor compared to just water.
• Pancake mix with buttermilk works great for extra fluffiness.
• Add grated cheese or salted egg before steaming for that classic puto topping.
• You can substitute melted butter with margarine if desired—both give flavor and softness.
• Adjust sugar based on your sweetness preference, especially if you’ll top with sweet or salty ingredients.
