Carbonara
Ingredients
- 1 kg sliced bacon fried in a non-stick pan (no oil needed)
- 400 g spaghetti noodles cooked according to package instructions
- 2 cups water
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 pack 62g cream of mushroom powder
- 2 tbsp bacon oil
- 2 tbsp minced garlic
- 1 medium onion chopped
- ¼ cup sliced mushrooms
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 pack 250ml all-purpose cream
- ½ tsp salt
- Grated cheese for topping
- Chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Fry bacon until crisp, set aside, reserve 2 tbsp oil
- In a bowl, mix 2 cups water with cream of mushroom powder, stir until fully dissolved
- In a pan, heat bacon oil, sauté garlic and onion until fragrant
- Add mushrooms, season with salt and pepper, cook until softened
- Pour in cream of mushroom liquid, simmer until slightly thick
- Stir in all-purpose cream and ½ tsp salt, simmer on low until creamy
- Toss in cooked spaghetti noodles, mix until fully coated
- Add crispy bacon (reserve some for topping)
- Serve hot, topped with grated cheese and parsley
